The 37 UN Human Rights Rapporteurs condemned the brutal escalation of violence in Gaza, genocidal attacks, ethnic cleansing, and collective punishment of Palestinians. Additionally, the imposition of a complete blockade without electricity, water, food, or fuel and the launch of a comprehensive attack on the largest open prison in the current era was condemned. In a statement issued on the first anniversary of the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the UN rapporteurs cited a deliberate pattern of attacks that poses a threat to the Palestinians' extinction and the extension of the application of international crimes to Lebanon. The experts urged the cessation of this cycle of destruction and murder, the release of hostages and detainees, the prompt arrival of humanitarian assistance, the addressing of the significant losses caused by the grief, loss, and collective trauma of those affected, respect for international law, and the return of the global compass in order to progress towards justic e and freedom for all people.
