UNGA will hold a session on the situation in Gaza next Tuesday.


Tripoli: The President of the United Nations General Assembly “UNGA”, Dennis Francis, announced that he informed the member states that he will hold a plenary session of the General Assembly on Tuesday, the ninth of January, regarding the situation in occupied Palestine.

A statement issued by the Assembly Presidency on Friday stated that the meeting, which will be held in the General Assembly Hall, was caused by the use of the veto power by one of the permanent members of the Security Council on the twenty-second of last December.

Dennis Francis added in the statement that the General Assembly will discuss the situation in which the veto was used during Session No. (9520) of the Security Council within the framework of the agenda item entitled ‘The situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.’
