Miami: The US-UAE Business Council, in collaboration with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, hosted a reception to celebrate the upcoming Zayed Charity Run 2026, scheduled to occur tomorrow in Miami, Florida. The event served as a platform to discuss opportunities for US businesses in South Florida to enhance their commercial ties with the UAE. It also provided insights into the current edition of the Zayed Charity Run, emphasizing its importance and the critical issue of kidney health. The ongoing cooperation between UAE and US institutions in promoting healthy lifestyles and advancing medical research was also a focal point.
According to Emirates News Agency, the participants deliberated on the significance of the collaboration between the UAE and Miami, as well as the state of Florida, in hosting and expanding the run. This partnership is particularly noteworthy given the recent establishment of the UAE Consulate in Miami, which symbolizes a deepening relationship.
The reception saw the participation of several officials from both sides, underscoring the event's importance. The Zayed Charity Run, first inaugurated in New York in 2005 in memory of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, has since garnered nearly 100,000 participants. The initiative is dedicated to raising awareness about kidney diseases and highlights the ongoing commitment to this cause as it expands its footprint to Miami in 2025.
