Wall Street Ends Week Higher as Rate Hike Fears Subside

New York:Wall Street closed higher on Friday, concluding the trading week positively as weaker-than-expected US employment data eased concerns about a potential Federal Reserve interest rate hike in October.

According to Emirates News Agency, preliminary data indicated that the S&P 500 increased by 57.93 points, or 0.76 percent, reaching 7,724.38. The Nasdaq Composite saw a rise of 319.73 points, or 1.19 percent, closing at 27,191.33.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average also experienced gains, advancing 260.15 points, or 0.51 percent, to finish at 51,186.71.
