The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (WEQAA) said it has been exerting constant efforts at the Crown Prince Camel Festival 2024 in Taif to maintain a safe environment for camels and their owners. This involves enhancing the health standards at the race venues by implementing biosecurity measures and combating insect vectors of animal diseases to prevent outbreaks.

The center said in its reports for the period from August 10 to 24 that animal health teams examined more than 2,513 camels and conducted laboratory tests for 1,064 camel samples to ensure they were free of high-risk animal diseases.
