WGS an opportunity to attract investment to developing countries: Minister of Culture of Madagascar

DUBAI: Augustin Andriamananoro, Minister of Communication and Culture of Madagascar, unveiled his country’s expansion in digital transformation and smooth transition to advanced technology across many sectors.

He underscored that the presence of world governments at the World Governments Summit (WGS) is an opportunity to learn about the best government practices and opportunities to qualify and train young people on the use of artificial intelligence and modern applications.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) during his participation in the WGS in Dubai, Andriamananoro said that developing countries, including his own, need new and innovative ways to achieve sustainable development, combat poverty, and find solutions to food security and climate change issues.

He also indicated that the WGS in Dubai is one of the opportunities that must be well invested to attract capital and airline companies to Madagascar.

The Minister of Communication and Culture of Madagascar explained that the world is
connected by a network of the internet and fast-growing technology. He noted that Madagascar’s participation in such global forums allows small countries to showcase their growth opportunities, as well as learn from the successful experiences of other governments.

He praised the bilateral relations between his country and the UAE across many fields, including the signing of an agreement on an educational programme in which the UAE will train and qualify approximately one million young people in Madagascar.
