Baku:WHOOP, the human performance brand, has announced the launch of its app in Arabic, featuring a fully redesigned Arabic-language experience. This initiative is supported by an out-of-home and digital campaign across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. For the first time, Arabic-speaking members will be able to access insights into sleep, recovery, strain, and health in their native language, making the app more accessible and marking a significant milestone for WHOOP in the GCC and the broader Arabic-speaking world.
According to Emirates News Agency, the launch is a part of WHOOP's long-term investment strategy in the GCC, which has emerged as a vital growth market for the company globally. WHOOP's membership in the GCC has increased by over 75% year-over-year. The company is furthering its global expansion with investments in regional infrastructure, retail distribution, research, and community partnerships, including the establishment of a dedicated office in the UAE and a growing retail network.
WHOOP is also set to open its first international performance research and development facility in Qatar later this year, expanding its research on health and human performance outside its Boston headquarters. The company is the official health and performance wearable for UAE Team Emirates-XRG and Al Nassr Football Club, and it has partnerships with the Dubai Fitness Challenge and the Doha Marathon, connecting with high-performance communities across the region.
By offering health insights in Arabic, WHOOP aims to help more native speakers understand the impact of their habits on health and make informed decisions to enhance their well-being, performance, and aging process. Will Ahmed, Founder and CEO of WHOOP, expressed enthusiasm about the brand's reception in the Middle East, highlighting the GCC as a major market and affirming WHOOP's commitment to ongoing investment in the region.
The Arabic app launch is a key element of WHOOP's strategic partnership with Mubadala Investment Company, following Mubadala's investment in WHOOP's Series G funding round. This partnership emphasizes a mutual commitment to bolstering WHOOP's presence in the UAE and advancing preventative health, research, and innovation throughout the region.
