Wildfire Forces Evacuations in Southern France

Abu dhabi: A large wildfire raged in southern France on Wednesday, forcing scores of people to be evacuated, emergency services said. Hundreds of firefighters mobilised to battle the blaze in the Herault and Aude departments, fuelled by drought and strong winds.

According to Emirates News Agency, two smaller blazes broke out in Rognac and Lancon-Provence near Marseille, as reported by local firefighters. This incident comes a year after major blazes in the Corbieres region and just days after a deadly heatwave swept across much of Europe. Another heatwave is forecast, raising concerns about future wildfire risks in the area.
