Workshop in Sana’a to approve, publish guide on women’s protection procedures


A workshop was held in Sana’a on Wednesday to approve and publicize the guide to unified standard procedures for women’s protection issues, organized by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor in partnership with the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation and the Women’s Protection Sub-Cluster.

The workshop, with the participation of 60 male and female participants, aimed to discuss and approve a guide to unify procedures, terminology, and concepts related to the protection of women’s issues in a manner consistent with the laws and identity of the Yemeni people.

At the opening, the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Obaid Salem bin Dhobe’, indicated that issues of protecting women are among the ministry’s priorities as the government body responsible for formulating policies and supervising social protection programs in general.

Dhobe’ stressed the importance of unifying efforts to develop and expand protection programs, empower women
and their leadership at the national level, and activate their participation in various fields of life.

He touched on the suffering of Yemeni women and what they were exposed to as a result of the aggression and siege on Yemen.
