World Governments Summit Organisation: A global platform shaping future of governments worldwide

DUBAI: The World Governments Summit Organisation (WGSO) is a global platform that focuses on shaping the future of governments worldwide. It aims to address challenges facing humanity by leveraging technology and innovation.

Established in 2013, it embodies the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The WGSO showcases the latest innovations in government services and aims to achieve excellence and inclusivity for policymakers, the business community, and civil society.

The executive structure of the organisation includes Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and WGSO Chairman; Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and The Future, and WGSO Vice-Chair; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications and WGSO Vice-Chair; and Mohamed Yousef Al Sharhan, Managing Director of WGSO, along with Reem Baggash, Deputy
Managing Director of the Organisation. This translates the leadership’s visions and directives by empowering young Emiratis and enhancing their participation in shaping the future.

The Ministry of Cabinet Affairs organises the World Governments Summit, which is the largest annual global gathering of governments. It brings together experts and government officials in governance and public administration and establishes strategic partnerships at national and international levels. The summit aims to share knowledge and experiences from successful government practices and provides a platform for thought leaders to work with global experts to improve citizens’ lives worldwide.

The World Governments Summit Organisation also forms partnerships with global research and academic institutions to forecast global trends and future changes. It focuses on developing knowledge and spreading educational content to support government empowerment and enhance readiness for the future, aiming to improve performance levels and
community life.

The 2024 World Governments Summit will focus on “Shaping Future Governments”, bringing together thought leaders, global experts, and decision-makers to develop essential tools, policies, and models for shaping future governments. The summit agenda will highlight six main themes: government acceleration and transformation, artificial intelligence and the next frontiers, reimagining development and future economies, future societies and education, sustainability and the new global shifts, and urbanisation and global health priorities.
