Dubai: The World Governments Summit (WGS), in partnership with PwC Middle East, has introduced the second edition of the Global Ministers Survey, an initiative aimed at gathering insights from ministers globally on key challenges facing the world today. Alongside this, WGS also announced the eighth edition of the Best Minister Award, reinforcing its dedication to shaping future governments and recognizing exemplary public sector leadership.
According to Emirates News Agency, the launch event saw the presence of Mohammad Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the WGS Organisation, and Ohood Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Vice Chair of the WGS Organisation. They signed two cooperation agreements with PwC Middle East representatives, marking the official commencement of both initiatives.
The Global Ministers Survey is set to enhance international collaboration by creating a platform for ministers to engage in dialogue, discuss global developments, and work collectively on finding solutions to pressing challenges. The survey's findings will significantly contribute to identifying development priorities and shaping public policy.
The Best Minister Award aims to recognize government projects and initiatives that have made a positive societal impact through resilience, innovation, and forward-thinking. It underscores a commitment to good governance, transparency, and celebrates ministers who have led initiatives driving sustainable socio-economic progress.
Al Roumi emphasized that the Global Ministers Survey reflects WGS's commitment to strengthening international collaboration and knowledge exchange among global ministers. She highlighted that the survey contributes to a comprehensive understanding of global challenges and the development of sustainable, effective solutions.
She further stated that the Best Minister Award aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to promote excellence in government leadership. The award seeks to highlight government leaders who pioneer solutions that meet their people's aspirations and improve quality of life.
Hani Ashkar of PwC Middle East remarked on the importance of their continued partnership with WGS, underscoring their commitment to supporting global government efforts in achieving excellence and innovation. The Global Ministers Survey, he noted, would provide innovative solutions to global challenges and reinforce WGS's role as a premier platform for international dialogue.
Rami Nazer from PwC highlighted their collaboration with WGS on the Best Minister Award, recognizing the exceptional efforts of government leaders in improving citizens' quality of life and driving socio-economic progress.
The award selection involves a rigorous evaluation framework, analyzing nominees' contributions and initiatives, and assessing their socio-economic impact. Focus countries are selected based on high global rankings in key social and economic indicators, and PwC partners nominate ministers based on direct knowledge and research from credible sources.
PwC's Global Insights Team also plays a crucial role by analyzing social media trends related to government ministers, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation process.
