Zayed Charity Run Announces ‘Hassantak Ya Watan’ Race to Boost National Spirit

Abu dhabi: The Supreme Organising Committee of the Zayed Charity Run, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council and National Projects Office, has announced the 'Hassantak Ya Watan' sports race, scheduled for 8:00 a.m. on 18 April. The event, starting from Wahat Al Karama, seeks to unite various segments of society in a celebration of sport and national pride.

According to Emirates News Agency, the event titled ''I fortified you, my homeland" aims to promote physical fitness while reinforcing values of belonging and loyalty to the nation. This race holds symbolic meaning, reflecting appreciation for the sacrifices of martyrs commemorated at Wahat Al Karama, a significant national landmark in the UAE.

Thousands are expected to participate, bringing together families and sports enthusiasts. The race will feature a 5-kilometre category, accommodating different age groups and fitness levels. Lieutenant General (Ret.) Mohammed Hilal Al Kaabi, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, stated that the event embodies the UAE leadership's vision of promoting national values throughout society.

Al Kaabi highlighted that the race carries a humanitarian and national message, combining sport with appreciation for frontline defenders and fostering a spirit of belonging and social cohesion. He emphasized that the race is an inclusive community experience, allowing participants to express their belonging and loyalty to the UAE, regardless of background or nationality.

Participation in the race is free, and the organisers guarantee high standards of safety and organisation. Community members are encouraged to join the event, reflecting the unity of UAE society. The race is part of a series of sports and community activities in Abu Dhabi during April, supporting healthy lifestyles and reinforcing values of loyalty and belonging in line with the UAE's culture of coexistence and tolerance.
