Abdullah Bin Zayed Emphasizes Commitment to Supportive Social and Educational Systems for Children


Abu Dhabi: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Chairman of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, marked Emirati Children’s Day by reaffirming the UAE’s commitment to fostering a supportive social and educational environment for children. This commitment is aimed at developing children’s abilities, nurturing their growth, and refining their skills to shape them into future leaders.



According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized that investing in children translates into national advancement. He stressed the importance of creating environments that guarantee comprehensive rights for children, including identity and national culture, to boost their sense of belonging and pride in their Emirati heritage. He pointed out that building a promising future for children necessitates stronger partnerships between families and community institutions, ensuring that children’s connections to their cultural heritage and values are solidified.



In the “Year of Community,” Sheikh Abdullah reiterated the need to unite efforts and adopt best practices that prioritize children’s growth and development. He highlighted the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for all children to become active individuals capable of meeting contemporary challenges and contributing to national prosperity.



H.H. Sheikha Mariam bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairwoman of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, also highlighted the celebration of Emirati Children’s Day. She acknowledged the role of families, educators, and institutions in nurturing and shaping children’s potential and emphasized the importance of providing an inspiring environment that supports growth and strengthens cultural and national identity.



Sheikha Mariam further noted the shared responsibility of child upbringing, which requires collaboration among families, communities, and various sectors. This collective effort is vital to nurturing a generation confident in their identity and equipped to lead the future with passion and creativity.



Hajer Al Thehli, Secretary-General of the Education, Human Development and Community Development Council, described Emirati Children’s Day as an occasion to celebrate childhood and reaffirm the responsibility to empower children. She emphasized the importance of creating a supportive environment that enhances cognitive and social development, promoting creativity and excellence while ensuring children stay connected to their cultural identity.



Sana Suhail, Minister of Family, reiterated the family’s foundational role in building a child’s character and promoting national identity. She emphasized collaboration with community organizations to foster environments where children can thrive within stable and safe families. This approach ensures children grow with a sense of belonging and pride in their national identity and highlights the shared responsibility in childhood development.



Suhail also noted the Ministry of Family’s commitment to initiatives strengthening the family’s educational role, fostering cohesion and empowering parents. These efforts aim to nurture a generation confident in their identity and prepared to contribute to a sustainable future for the UAE.
