Abu dhabi: ADNOC has launched the 'Local+' initiative to ensure UAE-made products are prioritized across its project delivery, thereby supporting the growth of local manufacturers. The announcement was made by Omar Al Nuaimi, ADNOC's Acting Group Chief, Commercial and ICV, who emphasized the company's shift to a new phase of accelerated global energy delivery.
According to Emirates News Agency, Al Nuaimi stated that ADNOC is committed to reinforcing its role as a catalyst for industrial growth in the UAE while supporting the 'Make it in the Emirates' initiative. During the 'Make it With ADNOC' Forum, organized ahead of the Make it in the Emirates 2026 event, ADNOC revealed its plan to award AED200 billion in projects over the next two years. These projects, part of the company's approved capital expenditure, will span ADNOC's upstream and downstream operations, aiming to boost the UAE's manufacturing capacity and industrial resilience.
The 'Make it With ADNOC' Forum facilitated connections between top engineering, procurement, and construction contractors and 70 local manufacturers included in ADNOC's 'Local+' list. These manufacturers have met the necessary technical and qualification standards to support ADNOC's project requirements. Al Nuaimi highlighted that the 'Local+' initiative ensures UAE-made products are the first choice in ADNOC projects when they meet the technical standards.
This initiative is intended to connect demand from major projects with the capabilities of local manufacturers, strengthening local manufacturing and building supply chain resilience. ADNOC aims to expand the UAE's industrial base by inviting new and existing partners to capitalize on the opportunities presented.
The forum gathered over 400 partners from government agencies and the private sector, as well as major engineering, procurement and construction contractors, service companies, suppliers, and manufacturers. This collaboration is expected to enhance readiness, accelerate project implementation, and expand industrial localization opportunities within the UAE.
