Abu dhabi: Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development (KFED) is actively participating in 'Make it in the Emirates' 2026, an event held under the theme 'Emerging Stronger' at the ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi from May 4 to 7, 2026. This participation underscores KFED's dedication to bolstering the entrepreneurship ecosystem, empowering startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and enhancing the industrial sector's competitiveness.
According to Emirates News Agency, KFED is showcasing a variety of evolving programs, initiatives, and strategic partnerships during the event, reaffirming its commitment to providing effective programs that empower national ventures and connect them with growth opportunities in both local and international markets. As part of its participation, KFED is spotlighting seven Emirati SMEs operating in industries such as agricultural technology, artificial intelligence in healthcare, machinery and equipment manufacturing, distribution and supply chains, and food and beverage processing and manufacturing.
At its stand, KFED offers visitors an opportunity to experience its integrated entrepreneur empowerment journey. This includes enrollment in the Fund's membership program, personalized advisory sessions through the 'We Listen' service, and the 'Funding on the Spot' initiative, which allows entrepreneurs to apply for funding directly at the event. Visitors can also register for training programs provided by the MZN Business Accelerators in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Al Dhafra.
Mouza Obaid Al Nasri, CEO of Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, emphasized KFED's role as a key enabler in advancing the entrepreneurship ecosystem and accelerating SME growth in the national economy, particularly in the industrial sector. She highlighted the importance of integrating funding with talent, skills, knowledge, and innovation, aiming to develop strong entrepreneurship capabilities and enhance ventures' readiness for expansion and sustainable growth.
KFED is also showcasing the 'Light Manufacturing Accelerator,' a program designed to turn innovative ideas into commercially viable products with a comprehensive support framework that includes funding and technical enablement. Additionally, KFED will sign five strategic Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) during the event with major public and private sector entities, including Etihad Airways, TAQA Distribution, United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), Rotana Hotel Management Corporation, and the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT).
These MoUs aim to unlock opportunities within various sectors, leverage academic and research capabilities, and encourage procurement from KFED-supported local suppliers, ultimately supporting innovation, entrepreneurship, and business growth.
