Ajman:H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Executive Council, inaugurated the Ajman 8th International Environment Conference under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman.
According to Wam, the conference features more than 40 speakers, including experts, researchers, and decision-makers from the UAE and abroad, and representatives from institutions focused on sustainability and climate action. During the event, H.H. Sheikh Ammar launched the Circular Economy Platform, a digital tool for managing recyclable resources, and the Ajman 360 Sustainability Strategy, which focuses on air quality, climate change, waste management, and biodiversity.
H.H. Sheikh Ammar also recognized five schools in Ajman that have met Zero Carbon Schools standards, promoting sustainability in education. The conference underscores Ajman's dedication to environmental innovation and its role in supporting the UAE's sustainability objectives.
Additionally, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Ajman Municipality and Planning Department and Tribe Consulting to produce energy from waste, furthering environmental sustainability efforts. Recognitions and awards were presented, including the Humaid bin Rashid International Sustainability Award, which acknowledged various contributions to environmental research and sustainable practices. The conference aims to foster knowledge exchange and develop practical solutions to environmental challenges.
