Algiers, The 36th Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference (AIPU) concluded today in Algiers, with the participation of a Saudi Arabian delegation led by the Speaker of the Shura Council, Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh.
The AIPU Conference was attended by heads of parliaments and councils, delegation leaders, and representatives of several regional and international organizations and institutions.
The conference discussed developments in the Palestinian cause and the current situations in the Arab region.
In its final statement, the AIPU praised the tremendous efforts of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia , in supporting the Palestinian cause.
The statement also commended Saudi Arabia for hosting several Arab, Islamic, and African summits to support the Palestinian cause and to put an
end to the aggression against the Palestinian people.
Regarding Yemen, the statement emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia’s initiatives, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince, which advocate for constructive dialogue to achieve sustainable peace and a comprehensive political solution in accordance with established references.
The conference also endorsed the recommendations of the political committee, which highly praised the pivotal and leading role played by Saudi Arabia, which has never hesitated in its significant achievements, contributions, initiatives, and authentic Arab stances aimed at unifying Arab ranks and elevating the status of the Arab and Islamic nations in all international forums.
The statement highlighted the Kingdom’s diplomatic acumen and its culture of promoting constructive and fruitful dialogue among Arab brethren to overcome differences and provide everything that serves the essential and common Arab issues, foremost among them the Palestinian c
ause, under the guidance of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and HRH the Crown Prince.
The conference also commended the Kingdom for hosting the Jeddah talks between the parties to the crisis in Sudan, aimed at solidifying the ceasefire and reaching a final agreement to halt hostilities and end the crisis in a way that preserves the sovereignty and unity of the Sudanese enabling them to regain their security and stability.
