Palmeiras has moved up to second place in the Brazilian Football League after beating its guest, Cuiaba, 5-0 Sunday, in the 24th round.
At Allianz Parque, Murilo Cerqueira put Palmeiras ahead in the 15th minute, then Estevao Willian added the second goal from a penalty kick in the 27th minute. Willian scored his second goal and the third for the home team in the 32nd minute, then Mauricio Pardo added the fourth goal in the 45th minute, followed by Felipe Anderson who scored the fifth goal in the 56th minute.
In the rest of the matches, Atletico Goianiense beat their guest Juventude with 2-1, and Fluminense beat their host Atletico Mineiro with 2-0.
Fortaleza leads the league table with 45 points, while Palmeiras, Flamengo and Botafogo share the second place with 41 points.
