Abu dhabi: The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has partnered with Core42, a G42 company and provider of AI enablement solutions, to create a sovereign financial cloud services infrastructure, marking the world's first dedicated financial cloud ecosystem.
According to Emirates News Agency, the new infrastructure is part of CBUAE's Financial Infrastructure Transformation programme, aimed at establishing the UAE as a leading global hub for secure and innovative financial services. The sovereign financial cloud service infrastructure (SFCSI) is built on the latest financial technology, offering a secure and isolated infrastructure that ensures data sovereignty, enhances operational agility, and provides protection against cyber threats. This infrastructure will enable the continuous availability of critical financial services across the UAE financial sector.
The SFCSI is powered by advanced AI and analytics, which will enhance operational efficiency within the financial sector. Through intelligent automation and real-time data analysis, financial institutions will gain deeper insights for more informed decision-making, ultimately improving the customer experience. Additionally, the platform will offer a comprehensive environment for managing multi-cloud services within a unified framework, allowing licensed financial institutions (LFIs) to administer their services seamlessly and efficiently.
The signing ceremony was attended by Khaled Mohamed Balama, Governor of the CBUAE, and included the signing of the agreement by Saif Humaid Al Dhaheri, Assistant Governor for Banking Operations and Support Services at CBUAE, and Talal M. Al Kaissi, Chief Executive Officer (Interim) of Core42. The event was witnessed by assistant governors and senior officials from both institutions.
Al Dhaheri highlighted the strategic importance of the national sovereign financial cloud services infrastructure in strengthening the UAE's financial resilience and technological leadership. He noted that it provides a secure, scalable, and future-ready foundation that enhances data protection and accelerates innovation, enabling the CBUAE and licensed financial institutions to deliver next-generation digital services confidently. Al Kaissi emphasized the importance of sovereign digital infrastructure for finance, stating that the partnership with CBUAE reflects a commitment to building infrastructure that supports regulatory clarity and national resilience, allowing institutions to scale advanced sovereign cloud and AI capabilities without compromising national control.
