Riyadh: The General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) is playing a key role in facilitating the arrival of pilgrims benefiting from the Makkah Route Initiative for Hajj this year, 1445 AH.
This Ministry of Interior’s initiative, aligned with Saudi Vision 2030, aims to enhance the experience of pilgrims from seven countries: Morocco, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Trkiye, and Côte d’Ivoire.
GACA has allocated reception lounges for pilgrims arriving at King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Airport in Madinah on designated initiative flights. It is actively involved in scheduling these flights, ensuring that arrival times are spaced out to avoid congestion in the designated lounges.
Spearheaded by the Ministry of Interior, the initiative is now in its sixth year. Partners include the ministries of foreign affairs, health, Hajj and Umrah, and media, the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, and the Pilgrim
Experience Program.
This combined effort aims to deliver a comfortable and safe experience for pilgrims, ensuring smooth, efficient and high-standard procedures upon arrival.
