Council of Economic and Development Affairs Discusses Reports, Issues Recommendations

The Council of Economic and Development Affairs held a virtual meeting to review several reports and topics on its agenda.

Among the key items discussed was a Ministry of Economy and Planning report for September 2024, which analyzed global economic developments and their implications for both major and emerging economies, as well as their impact on the national economy.

The council discussed a report by the Strategic Management Office at the Council of Economic and Development Affairs on the progress of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 Realization Programs for the second quarter of 2024. The report highlighted the key achievements and strategic goals of the vision programs, evaluated the initiatives, provided an overview of their performance, and outlined the prospects. It noted significant progress in all three areas of the vision — a vibrant society, a thriving economy, and an ambitious nation — in the second quarter of the year.

The council also tackled a National Center for Performance Measurement (ADAA)
presentation on the performance of government agencies in the second quarter of 2024. The presentation included details of government agencies’ performance toward achieving the goals of Vision 2030, efforts aimed at supporting and empowering these agencies, the results of national strategies, and future prospects for improving government performance and national strategies.

The council reviewed other reports and topics, such as an executive summary of consumer prices and wholesale prices for July 2024, a summary of the consumer price index report for July 2024, and an executive summary of foreign trade for June this year.

Following discussions, the council issued decisions and recommendations regarding the topics at hand.
