DUBAI: The Board of Directors of the Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC), chaired by Ahmed Saeed bin Meshar, signed a three-year contract to host the sixth and final round of the XCAT World Championship, the most exciting event in powerboating, starting this year.
Hosting the event is in line with the DIMC’s vision to attract major international championships and competitions. It also highlights the support for the ‘Victory Team,’ which will participate again in the championship, along with Emirati teams.
The signing ceremony took place at the DIMC, in the presence of Mohammed Abdullah Hareb Al Falasi, Member of the Board of Directors and Executive Director of DIMC, Thomas Kurth, Secretary-General of the the Monaco-based Union Internationale Motonautique (UIM), and several officials.
The DIMC’s board officially approved the return of the Dubai Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats to the emirate from 6th to 8th December, 2024, at the end of the 2024 World Championship calendar.
The decision also coincides wit
h the successful results achieved by the Victory Team in the Fujairah Grand Prix for XCAT Powerboats, the first round of the 2024 World Championship, after a two-year absence in 2022 and 2023 for the record holder for title wins with five.
