A meeting in Al-Bayda province, chaired by Governor Abdullah Idris, discussed today, Tuesday,UNICEF interventions in the primary health care, water, environment and sanitation sectors.
The meeting, which included the deputy governors of the province, Saleh Al-Mansouri, and Abd Rabbo Al-Amiri, the health and nutrition official at the UNICEF office in Yemen, Dr. Fahim Al-Haj, and the water and environmental sanitation program official, Eng. Saadi Al-Saadi, discussed the mechanism of strengthening partnership to ensure improving the quality of humanitarian services to cover the needs of the public health, water and environment sectors in the province.
During the meeting, the implemented and under implementation projects in the fields of health, water and sanitation were evaluated, the province’s need for priority projects and the actual need.
At the meeting, Governor Idris praised the projects implemented by UNICEF to cover part of the province’s needs.
The Director of the Health Office, Dr. Mujahid Al-Khatari, and the Local Corporation for Water and Sanitation, Engineer Abdul-Ghani Al-Mukhtar, reviewed the province’s needs for projects in the water and health sectors, and the importance of expanding UNICEF’s activities and programs in supporting service projects in a way that contributes to alleviating the suffering of citizens.
