Doha Falcons Secure Fifth Position in Standings After Round 14 of Longines Global Champions Tour


The Doha Falcons team achieved a commendable fifth place in the overall standings of the Longines Global Champions Tour and Champions League for teams, following the conclusion of the 14th round, held over three consecutive days in Rome, Italy.

The Doha Falcons currently hold 237 points, trailing behind the leading Cannes Stars, who top the leaderboard with 287 points. Riesenbeck International follows in second with 264 points, while the Stockholm Hearts secure third place with 245 points. The Prague Lions sit just ahead of the Falcons in fourth with 238 points.

The 14th round in Rome saw a spectacular win by the Madrid In Motion team, who triumphed over 13 competing teams in a two-stage round featuring jumps at a height of 160 cm. equestrians Michael Duffy and Eduardo Alvarez Aznar led their team to victory with a flawless time of 144.06 seconds. Riesenbeck International claimed second place with equestrians Christian Kukuk and Philipp Weishaupt, who completed the course in 138.69 seconds, albeit with eigh
t penalties. The Doha Falcons placed seventh in this round, with equestrians Simon Delestre and Julien Anquetin recording a time of 122.13 seconds but accruing 12 penalties.

In the individual Grand Prix competition of the 14th round, Luxembourg’s Victor Bettendorf clinched first place with a flawless time of 34.07 seconds. French equestrian Simon Delestre followed closely in second place aboard “Amelusina,” while Jean-Frederic Suter secured third place, also with a faultless performance.

The Longines Global Champions Tour, which commenced in Doha last March, has traversed through cities including Miami, Mexico City, Shanghai, Madrid, and Saint-Tropez, as well as Cannes, Paris, Stockholm, Monaco, Riesenbeck, London, Valkenswaard, and Rome. The tour will conclude with the final round in Rabat, Morocco, from October 18 to 20, followed by the Champions Challenge (Play-off) round in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, scheduled for November 20 to 23.
