Washington, Minister of Education Dr. Hamad bin Mohammed Al Al-Sheikh met today with Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to the United States, Princess Reema bint Bandar bin Sultan, as part of the program of the Minister’s visit to the United States.
During the meeting, they discuss ways to enhance the existing cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United States in the educational and scientific fields, as well as aspects of cooperation in the field of scholarships. This is due to the fact that the United States is among the targeted countries according to the new strategy of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Scholarship Program launched by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Human Capability Development Program Committee.
The two parties have explored ways to coordinate and improve the work between the Ministry and the Embassy in the fields of education and scientific research, in accordance with the significance and status of the Kingdom in all fields, in order to contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
Dr. Al Al-Sheikh has discussed with Princess Reema ways to support scholarship students and self-funded students in the United States, and the most prominent challenges and issues they face. They also review the Ministry’s, the Embassy’s, and the Cultural Mission’s collaborative and participatory role in assisting scholarship students to achieve their highest level of academic excellence and success through diligence and excellence.
The meeting’s agenda includes a review of the scholarship file offered by the Kingdom’s government to students from the United States to study in the Saudi universities. Moreover, they talked about ways for presenting educational investment opportunities in the Kingdom to the educational, academic and research community in the United States.
