Plans to Develop Education Excellence Award Underway: CEO to QNA

Under the generous patronage of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) announced Monday the launch of the 17th Education Excellence Award under the slogan ”With Excellence We Build Generations.” At a press conference, CEO of the Award, Maryam Abdullah Al Mohannadi announced the award’s objectives, categories and standards of participation and nominations.

E-applications for the Award will be open from Oct. 1-31, and the shortlisting will be during November and December. The winners will be named in Jan. 2024, and the honoring ceremony will be held in March.

Speaking to Qatar News Agency , Al Mohannadi said the Award contributes to enhancing creativity and excellence in Qatari society and deepens these concepts by adopting international standards, implementing qualitative programs, and achieving the integration of individual and institutional efforts to improve the outcomes of the educational process in the State of Qatar.

Al Mohannadi added that all the details of the award had been reconsidered in a way that promotes its prestige and attracts further participants.

The Award aims to honor the scientifically distinguished Qataris, deepen the concepts of excellence, and encourage all individuals and educational institutions to develop their performance and promote positive trends towards knowledge and scientific research, she added.

Launched by MOEHE in 2006 under the sponsorship of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Award has seen growing interest over the years, a trend proving Qatar’s human capital investment as a basis for the 2030 National Vision.

It is one of the pillars of the Qatari educational system and a path enhancing creativity and innovation among students and educational institutions.

A total of 900 contesters won the Award over its previous 16 editions.
