Cairo: Karim Badawi, Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, recently met with Abdullah Ateya Al Messabi, CEO of ADNOC Drilling, to discuss strategic partnerships and the company's involvement in Egypt's expanded onshore and offshore well-drilling program aimed at boosting oil and gas production.
According to Emirates News Agency, ADNOC Drilling, a part of the UAE's state-owned ADNOC Group, offers drilling and well-services solutions for oil and gas operations both onshore and offshore. Badawi emphasized that increasing drilling activity is a crucial component of the Ministry's five-year plan. This plan seeks to elevate domestic crude oil and natural gas production by enhancing exploration efforts, accelerating the development of discoveries, increasing well-drilling rates, and adopting advanced technologies.
Badawi highlighted ADNOC Drilling's technical and technological capabilities, underlining the importance of leveraging its expertise to support Egypt's drilling and production ambitions. He also mentioned that Egypt's promising drilling and development opportunities pave the way for new partnerships with international and regional drilling service companies.
Al Messabi conveyed ADNOC Drilling's interest in expanding its presence in Egypt by forming partnerships with the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and its subsidiaries. He emphasized the significance of collaborating with the Egyptian Drilling Company (EDC), recognizing its extensive experience in drilling oil and gas wells both domestically and internationally.
Both parties agreed to conduct specialized technical meetings in the near future to explore cooperation opportunities and identify areas for participation in the targeted drilling program.
