Ministry of Education Launches Specialised Training Week for UAE Educators

Abu dhabi: The Ministry of Education (MoE) has initiated its Specialised Training Week, which will be conducted from 24th to 28th August 2026, signifying a significant step in preparing for the 2026-2027 academic year.

According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative is designed to align national talent with global educational advancements, providing educators with advanced methodologies and modern technologies to enhance the quality of the UAE's education ecosystem. Spanning over five days, the programme includes more than 80 targeted initiatives and hybrid workshops tailored for over 24,000 school leaders, teachers, advisors, and support staff.

This dynamic training model, delivered both in person and remotely, ensures flexible nationwide participation to maximize the impact of professional development. Sarah Al Amiri, Minister of Education, highlighted that continuous professional development is crucial to modernizing the UAE's education system. She remarked, "The Specialised Training Week serves as a strategic national platform to integrate artificial intelligence, foster institutional innovation, and empower our educators to lead sustainable, world-class academic environments."

Furthermore, Al Amiri emphasized that the training programme is directly aligned with the practical needs of the educational field. By focusing on peer-to-peer knowledge exchange and experiential learning, the Ministry aims to translate training into classroom excellence and improved student outcomes.

The curriculum for this year emphasizes strategic areas such as AI integration in classrooms, inclusive education, academic and professional mentoring, school life quality, data-driven assessment, gifted student development, school safety, sciences of learning, institutional excellence and leadership, and multi-level support models, among others. These programmes enable educators to actively modernize their daily teaching frameworks.

The Specialised Training Week establishes a dedicated development path for 1,700 school leaders, including 500 principals and 1,200 vice principals. Key programmes such as the Leadership Competencies Lab focus on data-driven decision-making, AI application, and embedding school culture in national identity and Emirati values.

The initiative effectively bridges professional development with daily school operations through applied training, interactive labs, and real-world case studies. By integrating professional learning into the daily school environment, the Ministry ensures that training outcomes directly enhance school performance and elevate educational quality from the very first day of the academic year.
