The European Union and Iran held talks in Doha on Wednesday on a number of regional and international issues, according to Enrique Mora Deputy Secretary General, and the Political Director at the European External Action Service of the EU’s diplomatic service.
“Intense talks yesterday and today with Vice Minister Bagheri Kani in Doha on a range of difficult bilateral, regional and international issues, including the way forward on the JCPOA,” said Mora, who is also EU’s negotiator on Iran nuclear deal, on his twitter message.
He said they had a “good exchange “on the Gulf, including the new EU strategy for the Gulf, the appointment of the new EU Special Representative for the Gulf and the recent agreement between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
Ali Bagheri Kani is the Iranian chief negotiator on the Iran nuclear agreement, officially known as Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
