Abu Dhabi:Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defence, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee at the Federal National Council (FNC), met with Oleksandr Balanutsa, Ambassador of Ukraine to the United Arab Emirates, to discuss enhancing cooperation between the UAE and Ukraine.
According to Emirates News Agency, the meeting focused on developing parliamentary cooperation between the Federal National Council and Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada. Both parties aim to foster mutual interests and strengthen ties between the two nations.
Dr. Al Nuaimi reiterated the UAE's dedication to promoting security, peace, and stability at both regional and international levels. He highlighted the UAE's efforts in diplomacy and humanitarian aid, particularly its mediation between Ukraine and Russia, which facilitated a successful prisoner exchange.
He also stressed the significance of parliamentary diplomacy in fostering dialogue on issues of mutual interest and the role of parliamentary bodies in addressing regional and international challenges. These institutions are vital in proposing initiatives and recommendations to support international peace and stability efforts.
Ambassador Balanutsa expressed appreciation for the robust bilateral relations and confirmed Ukraine's commitment to enhancing cooperation in various fields with the UAE.
