Tripoli: The High Council of State (HCS) called on the House of Representatives (HoR) not to continue taking unilateral steps that would repeat failure and perpetuate the state of division. In a statement, the Council affirmed that the unilateral step taken by the HoR to approve a huge budget was in violation of the political agreement. The HCS expressed its commitment to consensus and considered it the possible means to make the political process in the country a success and to prevent any party from making a decision alone, which is what the HCS sought to achieve by setting basic points in the tripartite meeting under the auspices of the League of Arab States within its general framework. The Council stressed its adherence to the general framework of the political solution included in the tripartite statement in Cairo, in which no agreement was reached on the mechanisms for implementing its provisions, including the mechanism for forming the government.
