Internal Security announces the arrest of a Syrian ISIS member in Tripoli.


The Internal Security Service announced the arrest of a member of ISIS, nicknamed Abu Wael, a Syrian national, after monitoring and investigation operations in the city of Tripoli.

The agency said that one of the terrorist elements of this organization, nicknamed Abu Wael, a Syrian national, had entered the country by changing his appearance and integrated among the citizens, believing that the security services would be oblivious to him.

He added that members of the Internal Security Service were able to arrest an ISIS member, identify him, and refer him to the competent authorities, after monitoring, investigations, and collecting and analyzing information until his presence was confirmed.

The agency published the confessions of an ISIS member in which he said that he pledged allegiance to the organization and moved from Syria to Lebanon and entered Libya through Benina Airport in Benghazi in a legal manner. Then he moved to Tripoli and resided in the Tajoura area for six months, then to Ain Zara and fi
nally to Al-Seyahia area, where he was arrested by Internal Security Agency.
