Sharjah: Sheikh Khaled bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Authority, officially opened the seventh edition of the Jewels of Emirates Show. Following the inauguration, he toured the exhibition halls to review the latest luxury jewellery collections and gold and diamond sets, meeting with several Emirati exhibitors and designers at the 'Emirati Goldsmiths' Platform.
According to Emirates News Agency, Sheikh Khaled visited the Sharjah Pearls Exhibition pavilion to learn about its heritage and cultural programmes, which highlight the UAE's rich legacy in pearl diving and trade. The pavilion displayed some of Sharjah's rarest natural pearls and exquisite jewellery collections crafted from premium Emirati pearls. He was accompanied by Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI and Chairman of Expo Centre Sharjah, among other notable figures.
Sheikh Khaled emphasized that the Jewels of Emirates Show reflects Sharjah's status as a regional hub for gold and jewellery manufacturing and trade. He noted that the exhibition highlights Sharjah's success in fostering an environment that promotes innovation and entrepreneurship while preserving the UAE's cultural identity. He added that supporting specialised exhibitions helps attract global brands and creates opportunities for Emirati designers.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais stated that the show serves as a comprehensive strategic platform that strengthens Sharjah's position in the gold and jewellery industry. He highlighted the importance of initiatives like the 'Emirati Goldsmiths' Platform, which empowers Emirati designers and connects them with global markets. The Sharjah Pearls Exhibition, he noted, reflects the Chamber's commitment to preserving the UAE's maritime heritage.
Meanwhile, Saif Mohammed Al Midfa, CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah, mentioned that the UAE is leading global growth in the jewellery sector. He stated that the Jewels of Emirates Show is crucial for supporting the local industry. The exhibition spans 12,000 square metres and features cutting-edge collections from participants across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe, with dedicated national pavilions for various countries.
The exhibition also highlights strong participation from Emirati jewellery designers, showcasing their craftsmanship under the 'Emirati Goldsmiths' Platform. This year's edition hosts the second Sharjah Pearls Exhibition and marks the first launch of the 'Luxury Pavilion', a high-end zone dedicated to premium jewellery brands. The exhibition includes workshops, cultural evenings, competitions, and prizes, blending heritage and entertainment.
