Khorfakkan Hospital earns third consecutive ‘Baby-Friendly Hospital’ accreditation from WHO, UNICEF

DUBAI: Emirates Health Services (EHS) celebrated a significant achievement as Khorfakkan Hospital secured reaccreditation from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF). Once again recognised as a "Baby-Friendly Hospital," this acknowledgment highlights the hospital's commitment to top-tier healthcare standards and the dedication of its administrative, medical, and nursing teams. Following a meticulous three-day assessment by the WHO and UNICEF, this reaccreditation underscores Khorfakkan Hospital's dedication to providing high-quality care for mothers and children. The accreditation is a testament to the hospital's breastfeeding policy, implementation of the Ten Steps to Successful Breastfeeding, and compliance with international and local standards. Dr. Abdalla Albloushi, Director of Khorfakkan Hospital, emphasised that this designation reflects the hospital's commitment to delivering premier healthcare, particularly for children and mothers. The hospital's effor ts include enhancing access to breastfeeding support services, training healthcare professionals, educating mothers, providing postnatal care, and promoting skin-to-skin contact between mothers and newborns. These initiatives are instrumental in fostering beneficial feeding practices.
