Damascus, Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad, said Wednesday that the Syrian diplomacy has succeeded throughout decades in consolidating its position as a persistent institution that doesn’t hesitate in defending the just causes of Syria, the Arab nation and free-peoples of the world.
“The Syrian diplomats are going ahead in carrying out the directives of the political leadership to extend bridges of friendship, cooperation and coordination with brothers and friends who share with Syria the respect for principles of freedom, peace and independence,” Mikdad said in a speech at a celebration to honor Syria’s former ambassadors.
Mikdad added that Syria, with a lot of patience and wisdom, has overcome a lot of challenges, foremost of which are the repercussions of the unilateral coercive measures imposed on the country by the U.S. and the European Union, and it has restored stability and security to the majority of Syrian lands, and it is seeking to liberate the Syrian rest territories occupied by the US, Turkey, the Israeli entity and the terrorist organizations.
“Syria has confronted the Israeli aggression and occupation of lands in Palestine, Golan and South Lebanon”, he went on to say, affirming that this cause is always tops all priorities of the Syrian foreign policy.
