Newly elected President of Iran Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian will be sworn in by the Islamic Consultative Assembly on Tuesday. Pezeshkian secured a decisive victory in the July 5 election, receiving over 16 million votes, accounting for nearly 54% of the total voter turnout. The Iranian presidential election was held earlier than the originally scheduled 2025 due to the unfortunate passing of former president Dr. Ebrahim Raisi in a helicopter crash in northwestern Iran last May.
