Over 32,000 Violators of UAE Entry and Residency Laws Apprehended in Six-Month Crackdown

Abu dhabi: The total number of violators of the Entry and Residency Law in the United Arab Emirates, who were apprehended by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security, exceeded 32,000 during the period from January to the end of June 2025.

According to Emirates News Agency, this apprehension occurred within the framework of inspection campaigns conducted by the Authority across the UAE. These efforts were part of a strategic plan under the slogan ‘Towards a Safer Society,’ which aims to enhance compliance with laws and regulations governing the residence and employment of foreigners in the country.

Major General Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, Director General of the Authority, emphasized that these inspection campaigns are designed to reduce the number of violators and ensure a dignified life for residents and visitors by offering opportunities to live and work legally. The campaigns reflect the Authority’s commitment to promoting a culture of legal compliance and taking prescribed legal measures against offenders, while providing them opportunities to rectify their status or face deportation, thereby supporting societal security and stability.

He highlighted that legal measures were taken against the apprehended violators, with around 70% being deported after completing the necessary legal procedures. Some violators were detained in anticipation of being referred to the competent authorities for legal action.

Major General Suhail Al Khaili reiterated that the Authority will persist with its inspection campaigns across the nation. He stated that specialized task forces are continuously working to apprehend violators and that the Authority is committed to enforcing the Entry and Residency Law, including taking action against those who harbor or employ violators. The law imposes strict penalties and financial fines on violators and those who shelter them.

The Director General urged all sectors of society in the UAE to comply with the Entry and Residency Law and avoid employing violators, to uphold the law and contribute to the security of society.
