Tripoli: The President of the Presidential Council, ‘Mohamed Al-Mnifi,’ met today, Tuesday, at the Council’s headquarters in Tripoli, with the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, UNSMIL, ‘Abdullah Batili,’ to discuss developments in the political situation in Libya, and to advance the politics process to achieve free and fair elections.
The media office of the Presidential Council reported that Batili stressed during the meeting the necessity of breaking out of the political impasse and bringing the viewpoints closer between the parties concerned with the Libyan issue in partnership with the Presidential Council, praising its pivotal role and its insistence on the necessity of holding elections as soon as possible, in which all Libyans participate, without excluding anyone.
In turn, Al-Mnifi expressed his gratitude to the United Nations Support Mission in Libya and its absolute support for the requirements of the Libyan people to move forw
ard towards parliamentary and presidential elections as soon as possible.
