Riyadh: The National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification (NCVC) is organizing the 1st National Greening Forum in Riyadh tomorrow.
Various regional and global officials and environmental experts will participate in the event.
The upcoming forum aims to acquaint participants with the National Greening Program and encourage collaboration between public, private, and non-profit sectors to achieve the Saudi Green Initiative’s target of planting 10 billion trees.
It will foster effective communication and collaboration among participants, ensuring everyone has the information and support needed for a unified program approach.
The forum will highlight the National Greening Program’s various benefits, discuss its role in promoting environmental sustainability, and explore investment opportunities. It will offer a valuable opportunity to review the program’s progress, drawing on insights gleaned from successful regional and global projects.
The forum will delve into the challenges of compreh
ensive restoration projects, explore strategies for fostering community involvement, and examine the key factors behind successful tree planting initiatives, including sapling development and seed bank management.
The NCVC has launched the National Greening Program in cooperation with the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture as part of the Saudi Green Initiative. It aims to contribute to global initiatives supporting the reduction of land degradation and promoting terrestrial habitat conservation.
