Moscow: H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, engaged in discussions with Vladimir Kolokoltsev, the Russian Federation's Minister of the Interior, during an official visit to Moscow. The meeting emphasized the robust bilateral relations between the UAE and Russia in the security and police sectors, aiming to further enhance cooperation and international efforts for societal security.
According to Emirates News Agency, the leaders signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) focused on crime prevention and control. These agreements between the UAE and Russian Ministries of Interior aim to facilitate the exchange of information and expertise, implement joint training programs, and combat various forms of crime, including organized crime, drug offenses, cybercrime, and the protection of cultural heritage.
The visit also marked the official launch of the UAE-Russia Strategic Police Dialogue, an initiative aimed at strengthening the strategic partnership between the two nations. This dialogue is designed to enhance mutual ties, promote the exchange of expertise in combating transnational crime, and share best practices in modern policing.
The signing ceremony and meeting were attended by key officials, including Major General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, and Dr. Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber, along with other officials from the UAE and Russian Ministries of Interior.
