Syrian Art museum opens in the German city of Bremen

Berlin, The Syrian contemporary art museum was inaugurated in the German city of Bremen on Sunday.

A large number of members of the Syrian community, German audience specialized in the art and cultural sectors, in addition to economic figures have attended the opening ceremony, which was held with participation of the Syrian embassy in Berlin.

Director of the museum Frisi Crella gave a presentation on the paintings that were exhibited by the museum, noting that the museum aims to encourage intercultural dialogue.

The Syrian culture is distinguished with multiplicity and diversity within a contemporary art scene, Crella said, adding that despite the suffering of the Syrian people over ten years of the war, but the Syrian artists narrate their stories that are remained in the Syrian memory.

For his part, the Honorary Consul of the Syrian Arab Republic in Bremen and Lower Saxony and Director of the Takla Foundation Shaukat Takla said that this museum aims to introduce Syria and its culture to the German cultural audience.

The museum includes important works of Syrian artists and shows the contemporary features of Syrian art.
