Baghdad, The high-ranking Egyptian media delegation, headed by Karam Kamel Jabr, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, “Minister of Information,” left today the capital, Baghdad, after a visit to Iraq at the invitation of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate.
The delegation was seen off at Baghdad International Airport by the President of the Federation of Arab Journalists, the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, Moayad Al-Lami, and members of the Syndicate Council.
The Egyptian delegation that arrived in Baghdad, last Saturday, included Ali Abdel-Baqi, Director General of the Middle East News Agency, Alaa El-Din Thabet, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram newspaper, Youssef Al-Husseini, a member of the House of Representatives, and Khaled Merry, Secretary-General of the Federation of Arab Journalists and Editor-in-Chief of Akhbar Al-Youm. Abdul Razzaq Tawfiq, editor-in-chief of Al-Jumhuriya newspaper, Khaled Qandil, member of the Senate, Ahmed Abdel Mohsen Salman, editor-in-chief of Al-Watan newspaper, Mahmoud Ramadan, director of Al-Youm Al-Sabea newspaper, Karim Osama, director of Cairo News Channel, Thamer Muhammad Hanafi of the National Media Authority, and Imad Al-Din Hassan Ahmed, a journalist and a media writer, and Akram Hussein Al-Qassas, a journalist and a media writer.
During the visit, the Egyptian media delegation met with Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, Head of the National Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim, Head of the Media and Communications Authority and Head of the Iraqi Media Network Nabil Jassem.
The delegation also held a meeting at the headquarters of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate with the head of Federation of Arab Journalists, Moayad Al-Lami, in the presence of a number of members of the Syndicate Council, to discuss strengthening joint cooperation between Iraqi and Egyptian media institutions.
Yesterday, the Egyptian media delegation, accompanied by the head of the Federation of Arab Journalists, the head of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, visited Basra Governorate to see the latest preparations by Iraq to host the Gulf 25.
The delegation attended the friendly football match between Al-Mina Club and its Kuwaiti counterpart, which was held on the occasion of the opening of Al-Mina Olympic Stadium.
