Dubai:The Artificial Intelligence Office in the UAE has introduced UAE Vibe Codes as part of the annual UAE Codes Day celebrated on 29th October. This year's theme, "Vibe Coding," empowers individuals to transform ideas into websites and digital applications using artificial intelligence, without prior programming experience.
According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative, developed in collaboration with Microsoft, attracted 5,000 participants within its first hour of launch. It demonstrates strong interest in AI-powered innovation and the UAE's ongoing efforts to make technology development accessible to all.
The initiative allows individuals to describe their ideas in natural language, which AI tools then translate into working prototypes. Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, emphasized that this project aims to empower society with future tools and bolster the UAE's global leadership in technology.
The UAE Codes Day initiative encourages participation from all sectors, offering hands-on workshops in collaboration with industry partners like Google and IBM. These workshops aim to equip participants with the skills to harness AI-powered tools for creating websites and applications, promoting a culture of experiential learning and digital literacy.
In October 2021, the UAE designated 29th October as UAE Codes Day, marking a significant step in the region's digital transformation. In November 2023, UNESCO adopted the UAE's proposal to recognize this day as the International Day of Programming, highlighting the nation's leadership in programming and technology.
