Abu dhabi: President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, engaged in discussions to enhance bilateral cooperation and identify new opportunities in areas such as economy, trade, development, and renewable energy. This meeting aligns with the shared goals and mutual interests of both nations.
According to Emirates News Agency, the talks took place during President Tinubu's working visit to the UAE, coinciding with his participation in Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week. His Highness Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Nigerian President, expressing his hope that the visit would strengthen bilateral ties and open new prospects for cooperation, benefiting both countries and their peoples.
The leaders also exchanged views on regional and international issues of shared concern, emphasizing the importance of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week as a global platform for dialogue and cooperation. They discussed the need to develop sustainable solutions to global challenges and accelerate development for a better future. Sustainability was highlighted as a joint priority, with both countries committed to deepening cooperation in this area.
Additionally, the discussion addressed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), expected to be signed during the visit. This agreement is anticipated to be a significant milestone in the economic relationship between the UAE and Nigeria.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed emphasized the UAE's dedication to building ties based on trust, respect, and cooperation to support progress and a better future for upcoming generations. The meeting was attended by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, and several UAE ministers and senior officials.
