Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates has announced the closure of its Embassy in Tehran and the withdrawal of its Ambassador to the Islamic Republic of Iran, along with all members of its diplomatic mission, in response to the Iranian missile attacks that targeted the UAE's territory.
According to Emirates News Agency, these attacks targeted civilian sites, including residential areas, airports, ports, and service facilities, posing a risk to civilians. This move is seen as a violation of national sovereignty and a breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) stated that the decision reflects the UAE's firm stance against aggression threatening its security and sovereignty. This action is in response to continued hostile and provocative conduct that undermines de-escalation efforts, posing risks to regional and international peace, stability, energy security, and the global economy.
