UAE Dispatches Two Aircraft with Essential Supplies for Lebanese Women in ‘UAE Stands with Lebanon’ Campaign.


Beirut: In a continued effort to support Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates has dispatched two aircraft carrying 80 tonnes of essential supplies for women. The supplies are a generous gift from H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, known as the ‘Mother of the Nation’, who serves as Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation.

According to Emirates News Agency, the initiative is part of the ‘UAE stands with Lebanon’ campaign, launched in early October under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This campaign is a coordinated effort involving all Emirati humanitarian institutions and charities to alleviate the suffering of the Lebanese people affected by ongoing conflict. His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and H.H. Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan are actively supervising the campaign to ensure the delivery of urgent relief materials

Sultan Mohammed Al Shamsi, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Development and International Organisations, highlighted the UAE’s commitment to supporting Lebanon, reflecting the deep-rooted values of solidarity and humanitarian assistance championed by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. These efforts include collaboration with local, regional, and international organizations to provide necessary aid to those affected and injured, aiming for early recovery and stability.

Al Shamsi also stressed the dedication of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak in empowering Lebanese women by addressing their needs for food, medicine, and shelter supplies. He noted that the recent dispatch of aircraft marks the 19th and 20th flights in the relief airbridge campaign. The UAE is committed to continuing its relief efforts for Lebanese citizens within Lebanon and for Lebanese refugees in Syria by providing essential supplies and basic needs.
