Beijing: The UAE Embassy in the People’s Republic of China hosted a reception to mark the 53rd Eid Al Etihad. The event was attended by Shohrat Zakir, the Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress, among others.
According to Emirates News Agency, the reception was led by Hussein Ibrahim Al Hamadi, UAE Ambassador to China, along with embassy staff and the military attaché. The gathering saw the presence of officials from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, senior diplomats, and heads of Arab, Islamic, and foreign diplomatic missions accredited in Beijing. Additionally, prominent figures from the finance, business, investment, and media sectors, representatives from scientific, commercial, and cultural institutions, and UAE citizens and students studying in China were also in attendance.
The ceremony commenced with the playing of the national anthems of the UAE and China, setting a formal tone for the occasion. Ambassador Al Hamadi delivered inaugural remarks, express
ing his gratitude towards the guests for joining the UAE in this national celebration. He highlighted the significance of the day by acknowledging the 53rd Eid Al Etihad and the 40th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and China.
Guests were invited to tour an exhibition that accompanied the celebration, which showcased photographs and publications detailing the UAE’s journey of progress and development. The event also featured a documentary on the UAE’s achievements and cultural performances from both nations. Traditional Yola dances by Emirati folk troupes and Chinese folkloric shows captivated the audience, reflecting the cultural ties between the two countries.
