Paris:UAE-owned HM Alchahine, belonging to Helal Alalawi, triumphed in the Qatar Arabian World Cup (Group 1 PA) at ParisLongchamp on Sunday, an event held as part of the Qatar Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe meeting.
According to Emirates News Agency, the horse, trained by Élisabeth Bernard and ridden by Italian jockey Cristian Demuro, completed the 2,000-metre race in 2:13.84, securing victory by three-quarters of a length. The race offered a prize of one million pounds.
Al Shaqab Racing's Hajmah finished in second place, with Wathnan Racing's Chdia taking third. The winners, including Helal Alalawi, his son and trainer Tahnoon Alalawi, Bernard, and Demuro, received their trophies at the ParisLongchamp venue.
Tahnoon Alalawi remarked that HM Alchahine's triumph in Paris marks another significant achievement for UAE horse racing on the global stage. He attributed the victory to a well-executed strategy between the horse and jockey Demuro, which allowed HM Alchahine to finish comfortably clear of the runner-up.
