Abu dhabi: UAE President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today attended a banquet hosted in his honour by His Excellency Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of the Federal Republic of Germany, as part of His Highness' state visit to the country.
According to Emirates News Agency, the banquet provided an opportunity for His Highness and the German President to engage in friendly conversation. His Highness expressed gratitude for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation, and he appreciated President Steinmeier's remarks on the close ties between the UAE and Germany, emphasizing the strength of their partnership and shared aspirations for the future.
His Highness highlighted the longstanding partnership between the UAE and Germany, emphasizing the deeply rooted ties of friendship and cooperation. He acknowledged the significant contributions of the German community and skilled professionals in the UAE, describing them as integral to the nation's success and development since before the founding of the Union. His Highness expressed hope to welcome even more German professionals in the future and noted that the UAE is home to over 200 nationalities, providing a stable and prosperous environment.
His Highness conveyed his hope that the visit would serve to advance cooperation and further deepen relations between the two countries. President Steinmeier, in turn, welcomed the visit and praised His Highness' role in fostering closer ties, affirming Germany's eagerness to expand cooperation across various fields.
The banquet was attended by His Excellency Friedrich Merz, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, along with senior officials from both sides. Among the attendees were H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs; H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; and members of the delegation accompanying the UAE President, as well as several German officials.
