The emergency management delegation of United Nations agencies visiting Yemen on Sunday was briefed on the humanitarian situation in a number of districts of Hodeida province.

During the visit, the delegation, headed by the Director of the OCHA Office in Asia and North Africa, Tariq Talahma, met with a number of citizens and displaced persons in the village of Mandhar in Al-Hawk District and Al-Durayhimi District, and listened to an explanation from them about their suffering as a result of the damage caused by the aggression to their homes and livelihood.

The delegation was also briefed on the damages related to water, health, education, infrastructure, destroyed homes, the suffering of the population and the poorest groups, and the level of urgent need for the implementation of more humanitarian intervention projects in these areas.

They listened from the director of the Humanitarian Affairs Council branch in the governorate, Jaber Al-Razehi, to clarify the most important humanitarian needs to alleviate the suffering of the affected community, including the restoration of homes, schools, water and health facilities, as well as economic empowerment projects to help the displaced return to their areas.

The United Nations emergency delegation also visited a number of population centers in the areas affected by the remnants of aggression in the two districts, and the civilian casualties they are constantly reaping due to the lack of sufficient equipment and mechanisms to remove them from these areas.
